FINANCIAL COACHING FAQS
It is normal to have questions before talking with someone about your money.
Below you will find straightforward answers about what financial coaching is, who it can help, how the Grace Peek and Grace Game Plan work, and what you can expect when working with Grace & Goals.
You do not need perfect numbers, an organized spreadsheet, or a completed budget before reaching out.
What exactly does a financial coach do?
A financial coach helps you understand your complete financial picture and create a realistic system for managing your everyday money.
Together, we can organize your income, bills, spending, savings, debt, irregular expenses, and goals in one place. Then we identify what is truly available, decide what needs attention first, and create practical next steps you can maintain.
The goal is not a perfect budget. It is greater clarity, confidence, and control over your financial decisions.
How is coaching different from financial advising or therapy?
Financial coaching focuses on everyday money organization, habits, decisions, and accountability.
A financial advisor may provide investment advice, manage assets, recommend financial products, or create investment and retirement strategies. I do not sell financial products or provide investment recommendations.
A therapist may help address mental health concerns or deeper emotional patterns connected to money. Financial coaching provides a judgment-free place to discuss your financial habits and decisions, but it does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions.
Financial coaching also does not provide legal or tax advice. When specialized guidance is needed, I encourage clients to work with the appropriate licensed professional.
Who do you work with?
I work with individuals and couples who want a clearer, more realistic system for managing their money. This includes couples combining finances, first-time homebuyers, homeowners, and households managing commission-based or variable income.
Is financial coaching only for people who are in debt?
No. Many clients are paying their bills and earning enough money but still feel disorganized, reactive, or unsure about what is truly available.
Financial coaching can help you plan ahead, organize competing priorities, prepare for irregular expenses, and create a system that feels clear and manageable.
Can you help with commission-based or variable income?
Yes. Financial coaching can help you organize inconsistent income, determine a consistent amount for household needs, prepare for lower-income months, and build savings categories for upcoming expenses.
I can also help you incorporate tax savings into your money system based on guidance from your tax professional. I do not calculate tax obligations or provide tax advice.
How much does financial coaching cost?
The 15-minute Grace Peek call is free.
The Grace Game Plan is $250 for a two-hour financial clarity session, including my advance review of the information you provide.
Ongoing coaching is optional and is tailored to the support you need after completing a Grace Game Plan.
What if I’m embarrassed or nervous to talk about money?
Feeling nervous or embarrassed about discussing money is completely understandable.
You do not need perfect numbers, an organized spreadsheet, or explanations for every financial decision. We begin with what you know and work through the rest together.
My approach is judgment-free, practical, and encouraging. You will not be lectured, shamed, or pressured. Your information is treated with care and respect, and our focus remains on clarity, progress, and manageable next steps.
What happens during a Grace Peek call?
A Grace Peek is a free 15-minute conversation about what feels unclear, what you want to accomplish, and what kind of support may be most helpful.
During the call, we can:
• Discuss your current questions or concerns
• Identify where you feel stuck
• Clarify the financial goal or decision in front of you
• Determine whether financial coaching is an appropriate next step
No preparation is required. You do not need to share every financial detail, and there is no pressure to book a paid session.
How do we meet for coaching sessions?
All coaching sessions are held virtually through secure video meetings so clients can join from anywhere in the United States.
Because Grace & Goals Financial Coaching is based in Lynden, Washington, in-person sessions may occasionally be available for local clients in Whatcom County.

The Grace Game Plan is a $250, two-hour financial clarity session designed to organize your complete financial picture and create a practical plan for moving forward.
